Launch and Draw of High Schools Cup

Even though it was a rainy day, it may have been an important one for Stellenbosch High Schools football. The organizing committee and representatives from the eight participating schools met to discuss competition rules and all fixture arrangements of the inaugural Stellenbosch High Schools Cup.

This new competition will build on the experience and success of the inaugural Primary Schools Cup, which was played in February and March this year. It aims to give talented teenagers a stage to show their football talent and will reach over 250 High School learners from the broader Stellenbosch region.

The eight participating schools have entered their teams into the three sections for boys under 17 and boys under 19 as well as girls under 19. If the weather plays its part, the group phase of the High Schools Cup will kick off on Wednesday, 04th September. A great final day at the Coetzenburg stadium is scheduled for Heritage Day, the 24th September, and every football fanatic is invited to join for a day of fun, joy and lots of Stellenbosch football talent on show.

The following schools entered the competition:

Cloetesville High

Hottentots Holland High

Kayamandi High

Kylemore High

Luckhoff High

Makupula High

Paul Roos Gimnasium

Stellenzicht High
